Hi everyone! Wanted to share something I'm excited for w/ interactive components in @figmadesign, overlapping animation!
— miggi from figgi (@miggi) February 26, 2021
Here I have three different interactive components using delay interactions to make bouncing circles with different timings. Let me know what you think! pic.twitter.com/xg6Dy3zmCP
Interactive components are here my friends.

Here's a quick run through of what they mean and also why it's important for design systems teams.

Small update — today we’re rolling out a new macOS icon that’s designed to feel at home on Big Sur. pic.twitter.com/yWRPwslpkC

Timo Lins makes impressive 3D illustrations with Figma components.
I suck at 3D. But thanks to @figmadesign, I'm able to create illustrations like this. pic.twitter.com/6JqeDew2G0

A creative way of using components to create custom graphics.
Here is like 10% of the design system for my client. In this example, I have 2 components with the shape of lunchboxes + a few for details (like stickers) and inside those lunchboxes, I have variables with different foods :) so I can prepare graphics soooo fast :) pic.twitter.com/zfHNL3fIpx

A good tip from Miguel – Command-Click on an object to show a list of all layers below.
Here is a micro #FigmaTip for your hump-day! Easily select something in @figmadesign by holding ⌘ (Mac) or Ctrl (Win) when you right-click. This will pull up a list of objects directly beneath your cursor.

This is where naming your layers pays back dividends! 😊 pic.twitter.com/t4RNeGW9w7
Command-\ hides all UI, while Command-Shift-\ hides only the left sidebar.
Need more real estate *and* the design panel in @figmadesign?

A nice trick to work around some of Auto Layout’s limitations.
Auto Layout @figmadesign tip - use a 1x1 frame to add overlapping elements within a parent Auto Layout frame. pic.twitter.com/0dbJpeN8ri

In this follow-up to a previous question, Steve Schoger shows his process for building one of the icons in Heroicons set.
How to make a “Question Mark” icon in @figmadesign.

Steve Schoger looks for the best way to create a dot that responds to the stroke width. There are some creative solutions in the replies, but making a rectangle with width and height set to 0.001 is the best one.
How do you create just a dot in @figmadesign?
— Steve Schoger (@steveschoger) February 6, 2021
Every time I try to create one by drawing a point with the pen tool it doesn't get recognized as a shape and disappears.
I managed to create one once but I forget how and I've just been copy/pasting the same one ever since 😅 pic.twitter.com/11LdpcCPG0
Replies to this tweet by Sho Kuwamoto, Figma’s Director of Product, provide an interesting peek into the current state of things and what their team might work on next.
Hello folks! Quick question about @figmadesign.

What is one thing you wish Figma did?
What is one thing you wish Figma didn't do?
I shared some of Jordan’s experiments before, but this one is truly magical. Let’s hope it will become a real plugin one day!

Noah Jacobus pushes Figma’s capabilities beyond normal product design and uses it to draw, style, and animate the logo.
It’s no secret that I like @figmadesign a lot—it’s basically replaced my entire illustration & iconography pipeline. Even D&D maps! But I also try to push its capabilities beyond normal product design stuff and my own comfort zone.

What an unusual use case for Figma, but the end result looks great!
One of the challenges in designing stained glass art is coming up with harmonious colour palettes and textures. Glass is expensive material. So - today I made a digital glass colouring book for our pieces (in @figmadesign), so we can collab on materials before we start building. pic.twitter.com/K03We2lfzz

A nice way to share the always up-to-date versions of your designs.
Did you know that you can embed @figmadesign files inside your favourite project management tools?

And another short video from Miguel, this time about Bezier curves.
Here is a #FigmaTip to give you more control over your bezier handles when creating vector illustrations in @figmadesign. 🖋
