Yesterday we welcomed our first group of @figmadesign employees to our new office in NYC. All of them were required to be vaccinated to come to the office, it was magical to see everyone in person. pic.twitter.com/vjSeG9OHJ1

Today's my 1 year @figmadesign anniversary! Feeling grateful for all my talented, kind, and playful coworkers who filled this past year with fun despite the madness.

“We brought ten Figmates together to share their tips and tricks with you. We dove into features, covered getting started in Figma, plugins, and speed tips. You’ll hear from engineers, designers, designer advocates, product managers, and researchers.”
Chris Baty is the Principal UX Writer at Figma and was previously the head of UX writing at Dropbox. He’s also the founder of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). In this podcast, he talks about joining Figma, the work he’s doing there to make Figma an exceptional tool for UX writers and content designers, and what it’s like working as a team of one.
During an audit of marketing pages, the team at Figma realized they weren’t following their own advice. Over the course of a month, their small team created and organized a robust, adaptable style guide and component library that now lives in their CMS. I loved that part: “…every color has its own branded name, inspired by California, where Figma is based. An earthy green is avocado toast, and an ember yellow is sunset.”
What a gem! “This file contains the Figma design language and system. It includes the styles, components, and variants Figma’s design team uses everyday to design Figma itself, as well as some instructions and best practices.”
