Alex from Doist shared his feelings about trying Figma, and Rafa from Netlify pointed to some specific problems in its interface. My favorite part — Koen Bok from Framer showed up in replies to remind how much Sketch team raised the bar for the design tools.
Also very inconsistent behavior throughout, I know it's small things, but they add up, and dilute what could be a delightful user experience IMO 💜 pic.twitter.com/Z105IC4jKd

Impressive demo by Thomas Wright.
For #FigmaMakerWeek I put together a time-lapse visualization of the main internal @figmadesign code repository as a largely artistic endeavor, and it turned out pretty well!https://t.co/1Jee9720d1 pic.twitter.com/0iA9lEwqVQ

The link to a community project is in the replies.
Impressive how powerful a design tool can be🚀

Even though Figma is not designed for this, I was able to recreate one level from Monument Valley✨
Components and Auto Layout helped A LOT!
My little contribution to Maker Week @figmadesign🤗 pic.twitter.com/URgJuTxig1
And another set of beautiful artworks! What a talented team they have.
for @figmadesign’s maker week, I drew pictures of our office! here’s a digital tour 💛 pic.twitter.com/XAHO0KSCqy

Beautiful paintings by a software engineer at Figma.
Been missing the beautiful @figmadesign office so much that I’ve been painting it instead 😭 pic.twitter.com/Db10eao5c4

No idea how that will work, but seems really interesting.
It’s working! I did a quick test and I now have a ton of brush strokes in Figma that are fully vector, scaleable to any size, and customizable to any color. Would you want something like this?

An interesting thread on how Analytics can help make informed decisions when changing the design system. Too bad it’s available only on the Organization plan.
So, @figmadesign's Library Analytics. I haven't seen much talk about these for a while.

What's available can give us signals, but what and how can we drive change based on these numbers?
Let's look at some small examples that have helped me make more confident decisions.
Great collection of tips and tricks from the community.
What are your best @figmadesign tricks? I’m organizing a file with all of the coolest things I know for the community, but knowing y’all, you got the 🔥 ones and I want em!

Nice update. Duplicating files just to see what’s inside was quite annoying.
Nice silent update in @figmadesign: now you can preview all pages in Figma Community files without need to duplicate them to your files first. pic.twitter.com/XVXFgGcYWG

Nice to see how vector networks and rounded corners speed up the design process.
I did a short screen recording to show you why Figma is so great for quickly designing custom logotypes. https://t.co/BrtjdarV18 pic.twitter.com/Z28FJqRlcl

Plugin to connect Figma to the blokdots app, making it possible to use hardware components like sensors and buttons to control and manipulate elements right in Figma. Mindblowing!
It’s finally here: Our @figmadesign plugin. Now you can connect your GUI with your @arduino prototype. Still using simple programming, of course.

One of my favorite parts about my role @figmadesign is being able to talk to design system managers at companies of all shapes & sizes and I've learned from them just how useful emoji can be when naming components. Have any that you use? Here are some of my favorites... 🎨✋🔄🚫 pic.twitter.com/EaMUeGrV7v

Another great but well-hidden feature.
Figma tip! Try holding space while dragging over (or inside) frames to preserve layer order! @figmadesign pic.twitter.com/utg89I7GNN

This is a huge time saver. Can’t believe I never tried this before.
TIL in @figmadesign you can select individual style properties and Copy (⌘C), Cut (⌘X) and Paste (⌘V) them onto other layers#figma #figmatip

Great thread from Design Manager at Figma on how one of its most unique features came to life, from the initial pitch to design challenges and decisions.
Wanted to share a bit of the process of building Selection Colors, a little @figmadesign feature I feel rather (maybe strangely) proud of.

Good time saver. Alt/Option key only needs to be pressed if image fill isn’t set to Crop; otherwise double-click is sufficient.
Discovered a @figmadesign shortcut that will save me tons of time:

As always, Gleb comes up with an incredibly creative way to push Figma’s limits.
Advanced @figmadesign prototyping challenge: create a full circular progress bar animation with just two frames and Smart Animate. 😎 Can you?

So many great templates built with Auto Layout! The replies from the community are worth checking as well.
Over the past few weeks, we've seen people we care about struggle with unexpected layoffs and loss of work. We've also seen our community looking for ways to help, no matter how small.
